A real doer at Highgate Golf Club.

Despite not being a golfer Bridget was a true friend to Highgate Golf Club.   She was involved with every aspect of the Bridge group and was part of the team which developed such a vibrant and enthusiastic part of the club.   At the recent Bridge Day people spoke about her encouragement of new players, her qualities as a supportive and capable partner, her willingness to get involved whenever there was work to be done.  She was one of the better players in the club and a mainstay of a successful Gerber Cup team.  She was the treasurer for many years and together with Martin organised many club events.  She always showed up when there was work to be done.
Bridget was more than just a bridge player.  She was a keen theatre and opera goer.  She was a popular person who enjoyed socialising with her friends.  She loved getting dressed up for an event and she and Martin came to many of the club social occasions.  She was a positive and proactive person who did a lot for others.  This year she organised a successful "Not the men's dinner" bridge event for some of the wives left at home.
She was a wonderful gardener.   A couple of years ago she and Martin stepped back from many of the roles they had had in organising the bridge.  A collection was taken which raised several hundred pounds from appreciative bridge players and Bridget spent this on garden furniture and unusual plants.
Bridget had suffered many serious health and personal blows but despite this she retained her good humour and care for others.
At Highgate Gold Club, we miss her greatly.
